Hanwell's new shipping container homes

They've been used across the capital for pop-up malls, start-ups and street food. Now shipping containers are on their way to the west London borough of Ealing.

The steel boxes are being turned into temporary homes in Hanwell for those most in need. The council hopes it could provide the answer to the shortage in emergency housing.

The plans were disputed by some of those living nearby who claimed the block is "too big" and "too close" to existing properties.
