Mayor calls on government to "rethink" hike in rail prices

The Mayor has called for the government to "rethink" rail fares - as plans to raise them by 3.5% are expected to be announced next month.

If it goes ahead, the hike could raise annual travel costs for those living in areas such as Kingston and Surbiton by around £84.

It comes as planned works at Waterloo Station are set to cause major disruption in August, with fears the project could overrun.
