Children's TV favourite Mr Benn celebrates fifty years

Original drawings of the Children's TV character Mr Benn have gone on show, marking more than fifty years since his creation.

He first appeared in a book in 1965 before becoming a BBC regular in 1971.

Despite there being only thirteen episodes, the series ran twice a year for two decades.

Illustrator David McKee has now put some of the surviving prints on display.

'50 years of Mr Benn' runs at The Illustrationcupboard Gallery in St James's until the 16th of September.
