Should Nelson's Column be torn down?

A row has broken out over demands for Nelson's Column to be torn down. An article published in The Guardian suggests the landmark should be removed because of the Royal Naval officer's support of the slave trade. The story, by writer Afua Hirsch, comes as confederate statues are being removed in America.
