London faces water shortage by 2020

The Mayor's draft London Plan has shown that the capital is set to be using more water than it can produce is just a few years. Thames Water says they are pumping an extra 35 million litres into their network each day just to cope with the amount of clean water that is being wasted through leakages, that's the equivalent of 180 litres per household each day.  The company has been fined in the past for not dealing with the issue.
