Barking to get a Women's museum

A pop-up cultural archive celebrating inspirational women from the East End is getting a permanent home.

The collection was set up three years ago in response to the 'Jack The Ripper' museum - which was criticised for claiming to be dedicated to women's history, but instead focusing on the infamous serial killer. The new venue aims to highlight pioneers including suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst and will open in a new development in Barking.
