54% Children in Bow and Bethnal Green live in poverty

In some areas of the capital, more than half the children grow up in poverty.

It's an issue that was raised by London MPs in Westminster today, who wanted to examine ways of easing the problem.

They were told that young people here are more likely to experience poverty, than anywhere else in the UK.

In Bethnal Green & Bow, 54% of children are classified as living in poverty.

Today's discussion was organised by Siobhain McDonagh, the MP for Mitcham & Morden.
