Exhibition dedicated to suffragettes opens in Tower Hamlets

The Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives has transformed into the headquarters of the East London Federation of Suffragettes.

The ELFS, led by Sylvia Pankhurst, were dedicated to making life easier for women in East London.

They did this by holding public meetings, hosting benefits parties and concerts and publishing their own newspaper entitled "The Woman's Dreadnought".

The exhibition is on at the Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives until 20th October.
