London songwriters pick up prestigious Ivor Novello awards

Stars of the music industry came out in force for the 63rd Ivor Novello awards which recognises achievements in songwriting and composing. 

One of the winners was musician and political activist, Billy Bragg picked up an award for his Outstanding contribution to British Music.

Artists Dave and Fraser T Smith also picked up the Ivor Novello for Best Contemporary Song for their politically charged song 'Question Time'.

London born singer-songwriter, Dave told us how the events of the last year inspired him to put pen to paper.
