Brixton unveils a memorial to honour African and Caribbean soldiers

Today marks the 74th anniversary of the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

On the 6th of June 1944 - the British Army crossed the channel, with Allied support, to launch a major operation on Nazi occupied Europe.

A commemoration took place earlier at Brixton's Black Cultural Archives - to recognise the role that African and Carribbean soldiers played.
