Wikipedia 'edit-a-thon' challenges gender imbalance

Women from the capital's tech sector have paired with schoolgirls in an attempted to address an online gender imbalance.

Together they have created a surge of new pages for Wikipedia.

The online site admits that at present most of its content is about men, and created by men.

The Mayor's tech guru Theo Blackwell also gave an update on the work being done to get social media firms to take down videos which promote hate and violence.
