Floating Serpentine sculpture

The UK's first outdoor sculpture by the Bulgarian artist Christo has been officially unveiled on the Serpentine. Best known for wrapping the Reichstag in Berlin, the artist has now put together thousands of coloured barrels on a floating platform on the lake. Called The Mastaba, it coincides with a showcase which explores how the artist, and his late wife Jeanne-Claude have used barrels to create artworks throughout their career.
