Londoners are being warned not to leave their dogs unattended in gardens and yards, or outside shops after an increase in thefts. The Dogs Trust says around 2,000 pets are stolen each year across the UK with breeds like French bulldogs and pugs selling for thousands of pounds, making them a prime target for criminals.
