Dispute over Ealing Common travellers

Unauthorised traveller encampments in Ealing - three in the past two weeks - have led to a new petition calling for more powers to evict the communities.

The Conservative councillor Joanna Dobrowska is behind the campaign, and says a borough wide injunction is needed.

Debby Kennett, the Chief Executive of the London Gypsies and Travellers organisation, told us that: 'a borough-wide injunction order does not offer a solution - it only pushes families out of the borough to other areas... We urge Ealing to pursue more humane routes.'
