99 per cent of London homes out of reach for typical London families'
25th June 2014

Just one per cent of homes for sale in the capital are within the reach of typical London families, according to a new report by the charity Shelter.

In some boroughs like Camden, Sutton and Waltham Forest, the figure is zero, putting parts of the capital out of bounds to many first-time buyers or those with average incomes.

The average house price in London has risen by nearly 19 per cent to £485,000.
