Armed robber jailed after drunkenly confessing

A man who robbed three banks in less than two weeks was jailed on Tuesday after drunkenly confessing his identity to ambulance staff, believing they were police officers.

James Reilly pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday to robbing three banks, the first of which was in Brockley Road, Brockley.

Mr Reilly made his journey further North robbing a further two banks in Northampton and Preston.

The day after his third raid Mr Reilly was found collapsed drunk in a Blackpool high street, where he confessed his crimes to ambulance staff that had come to his aid.
