Green Team: Working is the way forward
5th June 2014

‘Green Teams’ are being set up to give young Londoners the chance to start a horticultural career while working on estates.

Islington Council has teamed up with charity Groundwork to found the team of four 18-24-year-olds who have started work renovating open spaces and parks in the borough.

The team, which will earn the London Living Wage of £8.80 per hour, is being funded by the council’s housing team and will be given the chance to gain a Level 1 City and Guilds certificate in ‘Practical Horticultural Skills’.
