Kilburn theatre refuses to host UK Jewish Film Festival
6th August 2014

A theatre in Kilburn has refused to host the UK Jewish Film Festival that is sponsored by the Israeli embassy, amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The festival has been held at the venue for the past eight years and was due to screen 26 films in November, but the Tricycle Theatre says it can no longer accept funding from any party involved in the conflict in Gaza.

They have offered to fund the festival through its own resources, however festival organisers, UK Jewish Film Festival (UKJFF), say the theatre's demands are “entirely unacceptable.”
