Man arrested on suspicion of murder after body of woman found in Northolt
29th May 2014

A murder investigation has been launched following the suspicious death of a woman in Northolt.

A police cordon still remains around a house in Merton Avenue where the body of a woman, believed to be 38-year-old Tahira Ahmed, was found on Tuesday.

Police officers were called to the residential road at about 9pm following reports of a ‘disturbance’.

A 41-year-old man was found near to the house and arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody.

Investigating officers say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

Formal identification of the victim hasn’t yet taken place but the next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held at Fulham Mortuary on Thursday, 29 May.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating the death and an incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge.
