Masked raiders attack academic
15th August 2014

Cambridge-educated Dr Paul Kohler, was the victim of a 'life-changing attack' in his Wimbledon home.

He is a published author and is also a visiting Fellow at Queen Mary College, University of London, chief examiner in land law for the International Academy of the University of London, and a member of the Bar Standards Board.

One of the intruders attacked Dr Kohler while two others threatened his 50-year-old wife and tried to tape her down to a chair. He says he never lost consciousness during the whole attack.

Scotland Yard said the men - believed to be Eastern European - burst into the address after the homeowner answered a knock at his door just before 10pm on Monday.

He has suffered injuries to his eyes and has a shattered forehead. Despite this, when Evening Standard journalist Mark Blunden visited him yesterday, he was said to be in high sprits.
