Jock Lowe on The Headline Interview

Jock Lowe was the UK's longest-serving Concorde pilot and a former director of flight operations for British Airways.

Captain William “Jock” Lowe is now Director of Heathrow Hub. His Heathrow runway extension proposal is one of three options being considered by Sir Howard Davies' Airports Commission, looking to increase UK air capacity.

In this London Live interview he makes the case for his Heathrow Hub proposal but admits that 247 homes (as well as warehouses) would have to be demolished to make way for a runway extension.

Jock Lowe claims the Airports Commission analysis of the noise impacts from his Heathrow Hub proposal is flawed and that Gatwick is too far from London to be a viable option. He says international airlines will turn their backs on the UK if Heathrow is overlooked for expansion and that 'the competition is in Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid and Frankfurt' and that 'it's not Gatwick'.
