1 in 10 young people self some point in their lives, but it can happen at any age.

Today psychiatrists are urging those tackling the problem to do it with more compassion and respect. If not they are warning it could risk lives.

Chris Leaman from Young Minds, they are the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. 

They are backing the education of how to deal with the issue .
