Microsoft CEO insults all women in his field
13th October 2014

The Microsoft chief Satya Nadella caused contraversy talking at a women in computing event last week.

His message to his female audience was - it's 'bad karma' to ask for a pay rise.

He later apologised, but it seems that the reaction to his speech had already caused enough damage.

The battle for equal pay in science, technology and engineering has been a long one with men earning up to 40% more than women.

In Microsoft's staff around 70 per cent are white male.

Headline London discuss this issue with  Sue Ferns, the Director of Communications and Research at union Prospect.
