West London A & E ‘breaking under the strain’
10th November 2014

Waiting times for A+E patients in West London are the longest in England, according to NHS figures.

It comes after the area saw two casualty units closed down.

In the last two weeks of October more than 1,400 people attending Northwick Park and Ealing hospitals waited longer than the government target of four hours to be seen.

In the week to October the 19th, the trust saw less than 68 per cent of patients within the target time.

The London Assembly health committee says, closing the Central Middlesex and Hammersmith A+E departments has left the remaining hospitals in the area "breaking under the strain.”
