Striking teachers to be reimbursed
12th November 2014

This has angered many critics who say it amounts to 'paying' the 90 teachers at Fortismere School and Highgate Wood School in Haringey to walk out.

The strike is over a teacher who The National Union of Teachers say was unfairly released.

Julie Davies was relieved of her position for union activities in 2000, and has been on full pay for 14 years despite not working. She is personally leading the walkout.

Bob Stapley, NUT Regional Secretary, has come on London Live to discuss the issues such as the teacher reimbursement, children missing school because of the strike and why he is calling more schools and teachers to take part.
