Kenny Samson says Ched Evans "deserves another chance"
21st November 2014

Digital Sports editor of the Evening Standard Amar Singh sat down with former England and Arsenal player Kenny Samson ahead of the Arsenal/Manchester United match for a football round-up.

The two discuss the upcoming clash, rivalry between the two teams, which Kenny thinks is even bigger than London siblings Tottenham - Arsenal.

Both sides have looked defensively fallible this season and Kenny expects to see goals scored. He also thinks the managers and coaches will have a big impact on the game.

Kenny is full of praise for Danny Welbeck and says he is “shocked” Manchester United let him go, especially given his talent for creating his own chances.

The two discuss the best footballers playing today.

Finally, Kenny gives his take on convicted rapist Ched Evans, who has recently had his offer to train at Sheffield United retracted. Kenny says he thinks Ched Evans “obviously made a mistake” and “deserves another chance.”

Kenny said: “There’s a lot of people that make mistakes out there and do wrong things, not just footballers, and they get another chance - so I think he [Ched] should have another chance.”
