London declared the European shopping capital
26th November 2014

Good news if you're heading out to do some Christmas shopping in the capital.
As London has been declared the shopping capital of Europe, beating Paris, Moscow, Milan and Madrid.

Jase Tyrrell is from the New West End Company, which represents 600 retail businesses in the West End.
He says the reason London has reached the top of the league tables is down to the amount of spending, the rent prices for shops and the variety of international brands.
With our city being home to Bond Street and Oxford Street being known internationally as shopping meccas, it’s no wonder we’re number 1.
