Introducing Jody Brock
1st December 2014

With a voice described as soul-infused with a rock n’ roll edge, there are big things expected of 22-year-old singer-songwriter Jody Brock. The south Londoner is building his reputation as one of the best soul artists on the London scene.

Jody sat down with Gavin Ramjaun to explain why everyone from Etta James to his father helped influence his music. He explains why it was necessary to add a little rock n' roll in the Black Keys mould to his sound and why soul in a modern context often struggles.

He also chatted about his love of live perfomances, songwriting, collaborations and his experience of the Brit School, which is famous for its alumni - including Amy Winehouse and Adele.
