Cute, funny and very, very entertaining: the Penguins of Madagascar
5th December 2014

Simon Thompson describes the Madagascar spin-off, Penguins of Madagascar, as "ridiculously entertaining."

Though the plot may be irrelevant, it's a fun, cute film which manages to not only keep children enthralled, but also the parents taking them to watch it.

The good fun comes to life with a stellar voice-over cast, including Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malcovich.

Less winning is Men, Women and Children, which Simon has mixed feelings on. Although not a bad film - and featuring an excellent, serious turn from Adam Sandler - the drama falls flat. Despite a modern, timely story of online relationships, Simon thinks the film labours its point and is a little dull. For more about the film, see our interviews with the cast.
