Westminster holds a party for business mothers

Two mothers have been honoured in parliament for founding Ealing Mums in Business.

The organisation hopes to eliminate the isolation associated with working for yourself. Started in 2010 by Shelley Henderson and Erin Thomas-Wong, the business has been bringing women in Ealing together and offers a range of support through their website.

Last week, at a reception in the Houses of Parliament, Angie Bray MP for Central Ealing & Acton honoured Ms Henderson and Ms Thomas-Wong with a "thank you" for their contribution to the community and support for small businesses.

Over 50 local businesses were there to share in the celebrations with Erin and Shelley.

MP Angie Bray said "It was my pleasure to show my appreciation for a couple of Ealing Mums who are doing so much to support and grow small businesses across the Borough and providing the kind of back-up which gives confidence to those who are taking the plunge.  Well done Shelley and Erin and we all owe you a big vote of thanks for everything you do - and of course a party before Christmas must be the best way to do it!"
The Founders of Ealing Mums joined Wake Up London to talk about their very own parliamentary party, the difficulties of working alone and how their business helped.
