Refuse truck kills six after loosing control on Glasgow’s busy shopping street

A rubbish truck that lost control on a busy shopping street in Glasgow has killed 6 in a crash.

It is thought the driver was taken ill when the lorry hit a pedestrian, which then mounted the pavement and drove into shoppers on the street.

Eight people are in hospital being treated for their injuries, the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
It happened George Square in the city centre, where the Christmas lights have been in turned off in tribute.


The singer Joe Cocker has died after a battle with cancer at the age of 70

He was best known for the songs ‘You Are So Beautiful’ and the cover of the Beatles ‘With A Little Help From My Friends.’

In his musical career that spanned 40 years he recorded 23 studio albums.

His final concert was in Hammersmith in London.
