Met advise Londoners to avoid central London for New Year’s Eve

Police are warning revellers to avoid central London on New Years Eve night if at all possible.

The warning comes as an operation is under way to ensure London is ready for the first ticketed New Year’s Eve fireworks display in the capital.

Superintendent Robyn Williams from the Metropolitan Police spoke to London Live ahead of the celebrations to explain why the Met are advising people to stay away and his advice for anyone who is coming.
