Boris Johnson launches low cost housing schemes

Boris Johnson visited Erith Park in Bexley to launch two new affordable housing schemes.

The first scheme intends to boost shared ownership of London property helping those on low to middle incomes.

Mr Johnson is looking into a new project which would allow buyers to get onto the property ladder without deposit or even a mortgage.

Erith Park is a housing estate with 80 per cent affordable housing. It includes rented, private and shared ownership homes.

The affordable housing funding from the Mayor of London’s office awarded it £23 million to help construction.
