Moving Pictures: short films tackling the stigma of mental health

Moving Pictures is a short film screening event born out of the need to tackle the stigma and discrimination still associated to the words “mental health”.

Bringing together a group of people, all who have experienced mental illness, the project allowed individuals to write scripts to express and explore why mental health remains such a taboo.

The event culminated in the creation of four dynamic short films: Talking Bananas, The Hole, Say? Don't Say? and Mitchell.

Time to Change, the organisation behind the event, carried out a study which discovered that nine out of 10 people with a mental health problem have experienced stigma and discrimination.
