Falling scaffolding seriously injures two women

Two women were seriously injured after a section of scaffolding fell on them in the City on a busy city street yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon on Eldon Street, a metal pole catapulted from the scaffolding behind crashing down on two women both believed to be in their 50’s, leaving them with injuries to the head.
Witnesses from local businesses on the busy city street say there were lots of people attending the women on the scene.
One of the women injured has been said to be sitting up right with a lot of blood around her face, while the other was lying face down on the ground.
The London Ambulance Service were called and treated the women for head injuries before transporting them to the Royal London Hospital.
Their current condition is yet unknown.
The road was closed at the junction with Finsbury Pavement while police investigated and have arrested a man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
