Talk To Me: an event to get you talking to strangers

Do you talk to strangers on the tube? Didn’t think so. Most of the time we hardly even make any eye contact - we’ve all been there.

London has been voted the second most unfriendly city and the experts say that could be down to the size having a detrimental effect on our social interactions.

Well, Talk to Me is trying to change all that. It is a global movement that encourages people to talk to each other.

The organisers believe that through talking to strangers we can all help to create a better world.

Ann Don Bosco, Co-Founder of Talk To Me, says the initial hurdle to start talking is the trickiest part. She suggests starting by talking about travel, clothing or literature.

They're bringing their talky-based chirpiness to London at The Square Pig in Holborn where London Live’s Maleena Pone was reporting.

Polly Akhurst is a Co-Founder at Talk To Me talks though some of the suggested subjects, and some of them may surprise you.
