Flu jab to protect three per cent of patients

The virus that causes the flu has mutated so that it no longer matches the current vaccine. 

Health experts are now warning the flu jab will protect just three per cent of patients this winter. 

The figure, predicted by Public Health England, would be the worst in at least a decade. 

More than £100 million is spend each year by the NHS on the flu vaccination programme, with each jab costing £7.60.


Family deny reports Bobbi Kristina has been taken off life support

Rumours that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken off life support have reportedly been denied by her family. 

The 21-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late singer Whitney Houston was hospitalised after being found unresponsive in her bath at home. 

She was later placed in a medically induced coma and it was reported her father is facing the decision over whether to turn her life support off. 


Sad face… emoticon texts can lead to huge bills

Texters using emoticons could be racking up huge bills, according to the BBC.

It affects older models of phones, including some Samsung and Apple handsets, according to complaints logged on consumer website MoneySavingExpert. 

In Scotland, a woman ran up bills totalling over £1,000 after adding emoticons to text messages.
