Poets pen odes to love to celebrate Valentine’s Day

Nothing says “I love you” like a poem. They’ve been synonymous with love and with Valentine’s Day for centuries.

In time for the big day and to celebrate love and all its meaning, character and complexity, YOUYOU Mentoring asked our rising poets to write love poems.

Poppy Turner joined Headline to discuss the project and to give her insight on the way poetry had traditionally approached love, heartbreak and romance.

Ms Turner recently won the Stanza Stones Award for a poem about the Yorkshire Moors.  She has also created poems for Dame Vivienne Westwood.
