2011 Arab uprising features in new theatre show 'The Singing Stones'

One of the most striking features of the 2011 Arab uprising was the prominent role that women played, unusual in an area where equal rights are sometimes not in line with the west.

A new production at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston explores their role from Tahrir Square to Kurdistan.

The triad of plays were written and directed by Kay Adshead, who joined Headline London along with Alia Alzougbi one of the stars.

The plays will be shown until February 28, 2015.
