Ronnie Wood says he's an artist who plays guitar

Guitarist Ronnie Wood today said he is an artist who plays guitar, speaking at National Open Art competition.

The Rolling Stones musician spoke of how he's often influenced by what he listens to when he paints, as well as the other way around.

"I often paint to music and play to paintings".

He also spoke about how London's art scene is one of the best in the world, saying: "Things like the National Open Art competition...I'm honoured to be part of it."

"There's some great young and old talent around".

One of Wood's sculptures was being given as a prize at the competition, which took place at the Royal College of Art in Kensington.
