Londoners crave independents for caffeine fix

You're never far from one of the big coffee chains, but despite their dominance, Londoners want to see more independent coffee shops.

That's according to research by The Caffe Culture Show which found 62% of consumers in London and the south east prefer to get their caffeine fix at an independent seller.

And 51% of those surveyed would like to see an increase in non-high street chains.

Author and coffee bar consultant John Richardson said:

"We're seeing some exceptional coffee shops in London. As a result people are now seeing alternatives to the chains. They're comparing a flat white in a chain versus one in an independent and seeing a much better product."
