World's largest collection of London images goes online

More than 250,000 images of London through the ages, dating back to 1450, have been published digitally for the first time.

The London Metropolitan Archives has spent the last two years creating a website where the users can scroll through the streets of the capital to see how it once was.

The website brings together the world's largest collection of images of London, including over 150,000 historical photographs of the capital's streets, images of the Great Fire of London, and photographs of the construction of Tower Bridge.

The website will go live on Thursday 21st July.
