Michael Morpurgo brings new play to Hackney

Following its successful run in Regents Park this summer, the stage adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's Running Wild is now preparing for a UK tour.

It tells the story of a young girl who is saved by an elephant during a tsunami.

The author, perhaps best known for War Horse, told London Live about the real life inspiration behind the story.

The UK tour of Running Wild kicks off early next year - you can catch the performance at the Hackney Empire in March. Proceeds from some of the performances will go to the Born Free Foundation.
