Government loses Supreme Court Brexit battle

The Government has lost its historic battle in the Supreme Court over Brexit.

Parliament will now get a vote on whether the government can start the Brexit process.

The judgement means Theresa May cannot begin talks with the EU until MPs and peers give their backing.

But the court ruled the Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Ireland assemblies did not need a say.

The Judges vote held a majority of 8 to 3.

Charlie Mullins of Pimlico Plumbers was one of the people behind the original campaign.
