Review called over controversial £2bn Haringey regeneration plan

A review has been called into Haringey Council’s controversial £2billion regeneration scheme.

The authority came under fire earlier this month over plans to partner with developer Lendlease for its contested Haringey Development Vehicle, which is yet to be approved.

The plans would see some council land, housing and property transferred into a private company which is jointly owned by the council and the developer.

The authority says the scheme is essential to deliver 5,000 new homes in the borough.

But Liberal Democrat councillors have called for a review, saying the matter should be voted on by the full council and not just cabinet members.
