A new Apprenticeship levy

From today businesses with a wage bill of more than 3 million pounds will have to pay a new Apprenticeship Levy.

The government says it wants big firms to shoulder the cost of training workers - with the money raised funding 3 million new placements.

Just 2% of businesses will be affected, but it's thought most of those are in the capital.
