From deathbed to Hollywood

In a career spanning more than 30 years, Garry Johnson has been a punk poet, singer-songwriter, journalist and music manager to bands including The Stone Roses.

The east Londoner can now add successful author to that list after his novel Serial Killer was picked up by producers in the US and is being adapted for the big screen.

It comes after a turbulent period for the writer who suffered a serious health scare which almost killed him.
