Ex-Grenfell resident tells of fire years before that didn't spread

A musician who used to live in Grenfell Tower has told of how much safer the building was before its controversial rennovation. Reggae artist General Saint says he owes much of his career to the 24-storey tower in North Kensington. During his time there he said a fire broke out on the 6th floor, but didn't spread to the rest of the building.

General Saint is among a group of artists who have produced a song to support those affected by the tragedy. "Homeward Ground" was played at the Notting Hill Carnival following the minute's silence for the victims of the fire.
