Faulty drains threaten Thames water quality

Raw sewage and household chemicals are being dumped into the Thames, by homes and businesses across the capital.

And it's all because of dodgy plumbing.

A report, led by London Zoo, found hundreds of drains that send water into rivers were contaminated with waste from toilets, sinks and washing machines.

Household pipes should be sending that water into drains which take water to treatment plants instead.
