There were unusual scenes in Westminster.

The heart of British politics was more like a circus - for a short time, and it wasn't the commons getting the attention.

Dozens of performers took to Westminster Bridge to mark the 250th anniversary of the first modern circus, which sat opposite parliament on what is now st Thomas' hosptial.
